UV/LED Lamps vs. Cancer

Full disclosure, I am no medical professional and am not giving any medical advice. This is a blog post of what I have read on the internet. Always do your own research.

So heres what I found on the internet articles: The risk of developing skin cancer from UV lamps is considered low, but is not zero.

UV lamps and LED lamps both emit UV light. UV lamps emit UVA and UVB radiation, which when exposed , can increase the risk of skin cancer. LED lamps emit a low level of UV-A light to cure the gel faster than the traditional old school UV lamp. Most nail techs these days are using LED lamps. That is what i use. But for further precaution, Ive read that you should wear uv protecting gloves and suncreen to minimize your exposure.

Here’s where you can find some uv protecting gloves for your next nail appointment UV protection gloves
